What we won't do
We won't sell or share your information to anyone outside OVBE, period. We hate spam as much as you do, so we won't publish your email address. We also won't reveal your street address (unless you choose to publish it on your profile). If someone wants to contact you, they'll have to use the OVBE messaging system, which will allow you to correspond without revealing your email address.
Sharing Your Content and Information
Members can control the privacy of the content posted on OVBE, and how it is shared through your privacy settings In addition:
1. For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with OVBE (IP License). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it.
2. When you delete IP content, it is deleted in a manner similar to emptying the recycle bin on a computer. However, you understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time (but will not be available to others).
3. When you use an application, the application may ask for your permission to access your content and information as well as content and information that others have shared with you. We require applications to respect your privacy, and your agreement with that application will control how the application can use, store, and transfer that content and information.
4. When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of OVBE, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture).
5. We always appreciate your feedback or other suggestions about OVBE, but you understand that we may use your feedback or suggestions without any obligation to compensate you for them (just as you have no obligation to offer them).
What we will do
The whole point of being a member of a business network is to let the world know about your brilliance. For OVBE to promote you, you need to tell us about yourself, and we will spread the word. So, unlike some of the more corporate social networks, we have an amazingly uncomplicated set of permissions, which consist mainly of "everyone", "registered members", "friends only", "friends and networks", "friends of friends", and "just me." By default, we'll publish most of the information you provide on the OVBE website, so you can get noticed. You get to decide what that information to restrict. If there is sensitive information you do not want to share with everyone set the view access to just me. Also, because OVBE is all about local community, by default we post your State on your profile under member info. We treat your information as our own and will protect it at all cost.
